Hardath General Insurance Consultants Limited (H.G.I.) was incorporated in June 18th 1998. As a family owned and operated insurance brokerage business and brought together the vast years of experience and knowledge from its owners. Our management team consists of well qualified and experienced personnel with more than fifty (50) years of active participation in the insurance industry.

Our business started in 1965 when our first insurance agency was opened by Mr. Hardeo Hardath. Since then we have continuously expanded our offering of insurance products through various insurance companies. In 1998 the managers consolidated the various insurance agency agreements into an insurance brokerage company. This transition facilitated an expansion of the company’s operations together with an enhanced choice of insurance companies and product offering to our clients.

H.G.I. has the flexibility to secure the best insurance products from the top insurance companies in Trinidad and Tobago. This results in enhanced benefits to our clients both in quality of products sold and efficiency of claims settlement .

Our goal of increasing market share along the east-west corridor was supported by the opening of our branch office in El Dorado Tunapuna in 2008.

In 2017 we opened our second branch office on # 13 Borde Street, Port of Spain where our mobile marketing unit is based .This unit service new and renewal client which is supported by the use of mobile electronic banking.

Professional Services

In an effort to maintain a competitive edge, emphasis has been placed on the continuous training of our human resource personnel. Our employees are provided with financial assistance to undertake studies pertaining to the insurance industry.

We have secured the services of specialised local and foreign consultants, Licensed Insurance Adjusters and Attorneys at law to act on our clients behalf whenever the need arises.

We have also established synergistic relationships with auto body repair shops to ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely manner and to a high professional standard.
